Cloudless at Gammage Auditorium, 8pm Arizona State University Cloudless is a series of 18 dances, set to a variety of music that ranges from a tune by WE to Philip Glass to a Bizet song recorded by David Byrne. Some of the pieces are meaty and complex; others breeze by. Some are emotionally profound, others lighthearted. They could each stand alone, but they also build steadily as a longer, nonliteral narrative that explores the human predicament, often through situations rooted in daily life. The evening plays like a CD collection of Marshall’s work, or, as the New York Times suggests, like a great short story collection.
